Why do you Pirate?
Ok simple question so don't be shy and add your comments below and yes you can be anonymous if you so wish, so to kick this off here is one reason:
One main reason could be this, the goddamn anti piracy adds and other shit that's has to play without been able to skip before the movie starts, i have many many original DVD's because if its good i will buy it (no argument about lost sales there then) but these disks hardly get played because of these stupid adverts that they somehow feel need to be played, comon whats the point in all the various screens telling us the film is copyrighted or not to copy it WE KNOW you would have to live under a rock not to and its not like if there wasn't a screen at the beginning we could then copy the film legally, it would still be copyrighted so again whats the point, do i have to start walking round with a sign on my back reading "do not mug me" to inform people its illegal? no because it would just be silly. Also the only people forced to read or watch these messages are the customers who have payed for the DVD why do they insist in calling them potential criminals?
The fact is these stupid messages although short are annoying and will not stop one copy been made but will force a few into copy's just for the fact that they can insert the disk in there player and instantly be watching the film they chose to watch.

Why I pirate? Well, where I am from it's not totally illegal to download movies, and the premier of a movie is always 3 months later than in the USA, so I get them sooner with almost the same DVD quality (otherwise I would have copied the rental, almost the same but more expensive than leaving my notebook on). And the prices of a movie are higher than crazy, so I refuse to buy them. aXXo Come Back SOON! We need you!
Why do I Pirate, well some of them are already pirated you know THE Carribbean ones like' Dead Mans Chest, The Black pearl & at worlds end ', not to mention the variations of the ' Bounty Mutiny ones '.
But seriously, i do Download them i have a Blu-ray player and i always Buy the ones i like almost every time , so The industry get my money anyway. I buy at least 3 a week, and they are TOO expensive, if they charged less then I believe Piracey would come down.
But I tell you what, aXXo Is the Man (or Woman).
I agree about pirating to get past the stupid anti-piracy ads. I hate sitting there waiting for that crap to play through, and unlike old vhs you cant fast forward past it anymore, so thats the main reason. Another reason is that I usually buy movies I like, but I am not going to rent a movie to see if i like it and then proceed to buy it, because by then I've spent like 30 bucks on a movie, which is ridiculous.

Well i did think the url of EasyaXXo speaks for itself but i shall explain, As a staffer on torrent sites for many years i was constantly dealing with people getting fake files and wondered if there was a quick and easy way of helping them out, and this came to mind, it may be easy for some people to be able to shift through all the crap that's out there but some cant which has been proven by some comments on your site, relating to them saying EasyaXXo hasn't got his latest releases, the fact been there is no latest's releases and anything that's out there is pure fake. so people that use this site come here for a quick and easy way to find aXXos genuine releases. AS for your hint that the site is purely made to get hits is pure bs and our stats can be easily checked, the adds on this site are purely there to cover the cost of the url which they are yet to do. This site has been mentioned on many top torrent sites and even torrentfreekTV because they understand how this site is helping people.
I do this purely for fun as a side project, The day a site like this makes money will be the same day you see me dating rachel stevens.

simple, i am a single mother to five children and a dvd or cd lasts about 10 minutes in my house before being frisbeed around. With this many children I would spend half my income on hiring all the different movies they want to watch in a week!!!!
I Pirate because Hollywood keeps putting out dud after dud movie, Why do I want to waste my money to rent a Crap movie that Hollywood Shits out. When I can Download it from aXXo, see if its good then buy it if its good. I do believe in supporting Good Movies, I don't believe in supporting Shit. The point in buying the movie is to send a clear message to Hollywood that this is Good, "More like this, please."
We'll lets see why do I pirate simple reason really I dont like the the idea of spending my hard earn cash to go to a noisy movie theater and find out the movie is utter crap. I really dont know where to start this post I have been with the p2p and torrent community for years and yes recently we have received some low blows it sucks but the sad truth is we are pirates we will get the information weather they want us to have it or not shareing is in the human nature if your girl has a cd she just went out and spent her money on would;t you be foolish to go buy the cd when there are only 1 or 2 good songs you want to hear anyways same with movies and software I my self beleive in open source and am sick of what Ms and the other big companys have done to people that dont know any beter. basicaly they buy a computer at there local wallmart or something and then are stuck with the crap software that ms gives them to use and if they dont want to use it or for that matter do like it and want to continue useing it then they are forced to pay a over priced fee. For example Antivirus software Spyware Office suits etc they should all be free and in the open source community they are so why does MS then think they can rip off these poor people even more than they allready did by getting them to buy there out of date software and hardware

Movies we'll there should be nothing as a copywrite law since once the movie is released out of movie theaters it becomes public domain anyone thats smart enough to own a vcr or can drive to the local video store can own a copy

We are the Pirates and there is nothing you can ever do to stop us. You can put some road blocks in our way but that will not last for very long your efforts are pointless and only for the purpose of pure profit for you and your company.
As long as there is a way to transfer data there will be piracy
I'm broke. I have children to support, and buying movies for them and me is too expensive. We have family time once a week and usually it involves sitting down and watching a movie together, and I can only stand watching the same movie over and over again so many times. I work, my wife works, and we barely make our bills, so the only option left for some sort of quality time with my kids is to DL a movie. So there you have it. Long live the Jolly Roger... Keeping family's together since the dawn of the internet. If it's free, It's for me!!!
I don't see downloading movies, music, books, etc, as piracy. I see it as sharing information and culture. As everybody here, whenever I like a movie I buy the DVD because it's worth.
what do I think, hmmmmm I spent 6 weeks in a U.K prison for dvd piracy last year sentaced to 6 months to serve 3 months but I did 6 weeks, never been to prison before and trust me im not going back, prior to prison I had not had a fight since 1988, in prison it was a nightmare, I brought dvd's from asai and sold them on, i was raided and screwed so much I expected at least one candle lit dinner before jail, would I sell these again, NO FREAKING WAY but until they do something about time scales of releases and costs of dvd's and cinema's people are going to break the law and they are going to download, they can close but others will just open......if you build it they will come right.

WEll lets see I've only downloaded a few but they've been older movies that I've seen a few times and the new movies I checked out to see if it was somthing I'd like to buy. Secondly in my eyes all movies anymore are pirated I mean really when's the last time any of us have watched a movie that was original. These producers are cring about us pirating but there just remaking older movies or playing the same old plots and story lines to death. The most original i've seen in a long time would have to be district 9.
why i like pirate? Well one good reason is that this kind of pirate (axxo releases) is free and doesn't cost you any penny..I personally had download more than 75 movies from axxo..single,trilogy i have it..well axxo releases is 5 star,plus with subtitles..something that is really rare for free stuff...i want to say that i really appreciate what axxo had done..my heart was broke-up when i noticed that axxo is gone..i really really frustrated..i hope that one day axxo would come back..always hope..so that is why i checking axxo website regulary...maybe axxo second coming would be full of surprise right? Well maybe he/she would release the HD or BlueRay version..who knows..
Why i pirate? from where i come from, the philippines, the meaning of piracy is somewhat hazy or a joke. the government agency tasked to implement piracy, advertises and defines it as stealing, yet the very same government prides itself with a long list of scams worth billions. mind boggling in a third world country like us yet nobody is jailed. and now, the former head of the anti piracy board is the official administration candidate for the vice-presidency come 2010 election.
Now, here, a pirated dvd costs about a dollar a piece. or even less. and that is packed with twelve or even twenty or so movies per dvd. mostly 2009 movies and about 1 or 3 are currently being shown in the local theaters. with the originals it costs $6 or so for locally manufacured dvds and a lot more for the imported ones and that is only for one single movie.
An ordinary income earner like me who earns less than $10 a day just could not afford to buy the originals. i could hardly afford the dsl connection. if not for my children's use of the internet for their studies, then i would have it disconnected. i could not even afford a cable connection for my tv.
now, in my country, the reality is these... occationally there is a raid to arrest sellers of pirated dvds complete with media and all. go to the place after an hour or so and voila!!! business as usual. clearly somebody is on the take or that the retailers selling in the sidewalk, about 90% are muslims, are just too numerous to be brought to jail. the government who is suppose to catch the 'intellectual thief' are themselves bigtime thieves raiding the government coffers. i have no other choice until somebody introduced me to the torrent community about two months ago. barely have i discovered and enjoyed mininova ... nevertheless it's LOL.
I pirate, because it seems like here lately, the movies aren't worth paying to see. Why would I want to pay 10-12 dollars to see a movie when I can convert and burn to a dvd for about 75 cents? If I dont like it, I throw it in the trash, if I like it, I print a label and it goes in my case.
A Hollywood star earns 20 million dollars for a single movie, and it is not even a good one. You pick the star, you pick the movie. Why do I pirate? Because the world needs modern way to reward authors of the movies and music - we can download both in thousand ways nowadays - they still make tons of money - and they still bitch and moan about us. The way things are now, movie makers and music publishers do not deserve that kind of money. They stick to the old ways, pissing on us, the global internet society, and scream about our way is not OK. Well I say it is enough of their monopoly - show us something new, something worth paying, and we will gladly give you our money. I payed for watching Avatar just few days ago - and I liked it. It is not the best movie I ever watched - not even closely - but I still enjoyed it. And payed the money, even I could wait for the rip and watch it at home. So stop bitching, and give us something good, for God's sake! We will pay, but you need to do something worth our money.
There's several comments that I totally agree with.
1. Why waste my hard earned money on crap movies just because the only good parts was the trailer?
2. Why pay $20+ for a newly released DVD when in a few months it's gonna be $10 or less?
3. I believe in try before you buy lol. If I like it enough, I'll go buy it, especially for the extra content like deleted scenes etc.
4. Rentals suck! Half the time you go look for a movie and all copies are out, or in my case won't play cause they're scratched all to shit!
5. A lot of movies I d/l are out of circulation or if you can find it online, they charge outrageous prices like it was just released and shipping is as much as the DVD itself.
With all this being said, it's like the 80's before DVD's or CD's. People was ripping cassette tapes and video tapes then and nothing stopped it. If you want to stop pirating, stop giving us recorders LMAO!!
